Laptops make it easier to transfer your computer files between work, school, home, and the living room. As laptops become more popular, it's no wonder the Japanese-based power-house Sony is also making its share of laptops. The Sony Vaio is Sony's brand name laptop and usually runs a little more expensive than the competition. These laptops have built a reputation as a solid laptop and a clear choice above other brands. It may be an easy choice to pick a Vaio notebook but it's not easy picking between Sony laptops. Not to worry, with a little work anyone can do it.
- Decide what type of laptop you want. The Laptop Authority states that there are several different varieties of laptops, even when considering a Sony Vaio laptop. Sony Vaio compares with the standard laptop and comes with minimal features but the most savings. Vaio also makes a netbook computer with a small screen for maximum portability.
- Compare battery life. Battery life is important for the business person on the go, or someone who hopes to use their laptop a long time in between charging sessions. Online Laptop Battery has taken the battery power of a range of laptops and they average anywhere from 4-6 hours running programs.
- Compare hard drives. The computer hard drive stores files and programs. Hard drives are constantly getting larger. You won't want less than 100 GB on a new laptop. The larger the hard drive, the more room you have for videos, music and pictures on your laptop.
- Look at computer graphics. Most Sony Vaio laptops come with a default motherboard graphics card. If you plan to run graphic intense programs or games, consider a laptop with a higher end graphics card. The upgrade isn't incredibly pricey when you buy the laptop but taking apart the laptop to upgrade later is extremely expensive.
- Evaluate personal features. It's important to find a laptop that suits your style and what you plan to use it for. Choose a color and design that you like. Look for additional features you might like, such as a built in webcam or a larger keyboard.
